Submission Guidelines

Do you have a passion for art and want to share your insights? Artive invites you to submit your work! Whether it’s a compelling review, an inspiring interview, or a thought-provoking reflection, we want to showcase your unique perspective. Join our community and let your voice resonate in the vibrant world of art!
Here are the guidelines:
1. Reviews
You can submit a review or appreciation of an artwork, whether it’s an exhibition, a single piece, or a performance.
Writing Requirements:
- Word count: 700–1,500 words.
- The piece should include a brief description of the artwork/exhibition/performance, followed by analysis, interpretation, or critical reflection.
- Use communicative and popular language, not just academic.
- Include basic information (title of the artwork/exhibition/performance, artist’s name, venue/date, and photo source).
2. Interviews
You can submit an interview with an artist, curator, choreographer, actor, director, dancer, researcher, or other art practitioner.
Writing Requirements:
- Word count: 1,000–1,500 words.
- Format: Q&A or narrative, adaptable to the writer’s style.
- Include a brief introduction (200–300 words) about the interviewee: who they are, the context, and why they matter.
- The interview must be original (not a translation or rehashed article) and have the interviewee’s permission.
- Include a photo of the interviewee with clear credit.
3. Fragments
If you have thoughts, opinions, or short essays about art and culture, submit them to this section.
Writing Requirements:
- Word count: 700–1,500 words.
- Free, reflective style, which can be an opinion, note, or snippet of thought.
- Can be personal, poetic, or experimental, as long as it remains relevant to art/culture.
- Images/photos are not mandatory but can be included if they support the content.
General Submission Requirements (applies to all sections)
- The manuscript must be original and not previously published in other media (print/online).
- Written in clear, communicative Indonesian following standard spelling guidelines (EYD), or in English if bilingual.
- File format: .doc or .docx, standard font (Times New Roman or Arial), 12pt, 1.5 line spacing.
- Include a title, optional subtitle, and a short author bio (50–100 words) with a photo of yourself. The bio and photo are only required for first-time contributors.
- If including images/photos, ensure good resolution (minimum 1 MB) in landscape format, with clear credit/photographer/source.
- The editorial team reserves the right to edit the manuscript as long as it does not alter its substance.
- Currently, Artive is unable to provide financial compensation. In return, we offer extensive promotion of the contributor’s work and name to a broad audience and Artive’s network.
